According to the 2022 AP score distributions, 14.9% of students received a 5. Additionally, you would have needed to gain 70.0% of the total composite points on the APHG exam to score a 5. 

In 2022, 18.7% of students received a 4 on the APHG exam. Alternatively, you would have needed to correctly answer 58.3% of the total available points to earn a 4 on the AP Human Geography exam. 

According to the College Board’s 2022 AP score distributions, 19.6% of students earned a 3 on the AP Human Geography exam. In order to secure a 3 on the 2022 exam, you only needed to correctly answer 48.3% of the questions. 

The multiple-choice and free response sections each accounted for 50% of the total composite score. For example, if you correctly answered 75% of the multiple choice questions and 50% of the free response questions, you would’ve earned a raw score of 90 out of the possible 120. Your total composite score is then converted to a 1-5 AP® score.

Out of the 221,815 students who took the AP Human Geography exam in 2022, 53.2% passed with a score of 3 or higher. The mean score was 2.70 with a standard deviation of 1.45.
